Convenience and Timeliness

Roanoke residents trust us with jewelry appraisals for two key reasons: convenience and timeliness. We understand that you're busy — and you want a thorough appraisal for the valuable item you're preparing to part with.
To start the appraisal process, simply walk into our store. You can also call to make an appointment if you prefer.
Typically, you can expect appraisals to take a week to 10 days. We at Frantz Diamonds are committed to providing accurate valuations, and we devote a great deal of time and effort to our appraisals.
During the process, we will take numerous photographs of your piece, and our experienced jewelers will measure and weigh it. If it is an antique and/or rare piece, we will also perform research on the item as part of the appraisal package.
As the last step, we will write up your appraised piece for insurance documentation, retail replacement, settling estates, or private reselling. We will tell you exactly what your piece is worth, so that you can walk away from your appraisal with confidence.

Express Appraisals

We understand that time can be of the essence! Frantz Diamonds is pleased to offer an express appraisal service for those in a hurry. Our dedicated team works diligently to ensure a swift yet thorough assessment, allowing you to retrieve your appraised jewelry as soon as the same day, or the following day at the latest. A prior appointment is required to ensure that the appraisal is feasible for our team within the expedited timeline. Additional fees will apply (quote provided upon acceptance of the job). We prioritize both accuracy and efficiency when meeting your urgent needs.

Anticipated Investment

At Frantz Diamonds, we believe in transparent and fair pricing. Our individual jewelry and diamond appraisals are priced per piece to ensure clarity and simplicity. However, for collections exceeding five pieces, we transition to an hourly rate that reflects the meticulous attention and expertise required for larger assortments.

Insuring Your Appraised Piece

Once your piece has been appraised, the next step will be to insure it for protection against potential theft, misplacement, and damage. While Frantz Diamonds is not licensed to sell jewelry insurance, we will be happy to connect you with one of our retail partners.
