Convenience and Timeliness

Roanoke residents trust us with jewelry appraisals for two key reasons: convenience and timeliness. We understand that you're busy — and you want a thorough appraisal for the valuable that you're preparing to part ways with.
To start the appraisal process, simply walk into our store. Though, you can also call to make an appointment if you prefer.
Appraisals typically take a week to 10 days before you can take your jewelry piece back home. That might seem like an eternity, but there's a lot of time and effort that goes into appraisals at Frantz Diamonds & Jewelry.
During the process, we'll take a lot of pictures of your piece. Our experienced jewelers will measure and weigh the piece. If it’s an antique and/or rare piece, we'll also perform research on the item as part of the appraisal package.
As the last step of the appraisal, we'll write up your appraised piece for insurance documentation, retail replacement, settling estates, or private reselling. We'll tell you exactly what your piece is worth so that you walk away from the appraisal with confidence.

Express Appraisals

Understanding that time can be of the essence, Frantz Diamonds is pleased to offer an express appraisal service for those in a hurry. Our dedicated team works diligently to ensure a swift yet thorough assessment, allowing you to retrieve your appraised jewelry as quickly as the same day or, at the latest, the following day. We prioritize both accuracy and efficiency to meet your urgent needs.

Anticipated Investment

At Frantz Diamonds, we believe in transparent and fair pricing. Our individual Jewelry and Diamond appraisals are priced per piece, ensuring clarity and simplicity. However, for collections exceeding five pieces, we transition to an hourly rate, reflecting the meticulous attention and expertise required for larger assortments.

Insuring Your Appraised Piece

Once your piece has been appraised, the next step will be to insure it to protect it against potential theft, misplacement, and damage. Frantz Diamonds & Jewelry doesn’t sell jewelry insurance coverage, but we'll connect you with one of our retail partners such as Jeweler's Mutual, who can provide a stand-alone policy. (It's a great option if you don't want to tie in your jewelry's insurance with your homeowner's insurance policy.)
